Bf 109G-6 ("Red 13") flown by Heinrich Bartels of the IV/JG27 during
the early spring of 1943 while serving in the Mediteranean theatre.
During his carreer, he scored 99 confirmed kills and flew 500 combat
missions. On December 23rd of 1944, Bartels, while now assigned to the
european theatre, flying "yellow 13", took off never to return. He
scored his 99th kill on a P-47, and was never seen again. 24 years
later, on Jan. 26th 1968, his crashed plane was found at Villip, near
Bad Godesburg. His parachute, still packed, was found inside of the
cockpit. Werner Girbig, who wrote a book about his search for missing
pilots of the Reichsverteidigung, and who found Bartels plane, wrote
that during the excavation... found pieces of his uniform with markings,
and two gloves, one which included a wedding ring with the markings
"Marga 11. 12. 43" embossed on it (the name of his wife meaning Margarete
Bartels- as it was written on the plane). Werner's account of the find
does not mention whether or not any skeletal remains were found, but did
indicate that hair folicles were found stuck in the frame of the windshield
of the aircraft. Although no mention of remains, a grave was put in Villip.

Notes:
This is a non-HR 3DZ version. it is a rear non-mirrored version and has
the correct wing views. I have also added damaged wing views. A special
thanks goes out to Col. Gibbon without who's guidance and support,
this would not have been possible!

Installation:
Simply drop the tpc/3DZ files into your EAW folder, select the
Bf109 G slot... and enjoy!
